Yes, we can do this. One approach we've used on the CC Wiki is using
Namespaces. So http://acawiki.org/Hello would be English (since that's the
default language of the wiki) and http://acawiki.org/Es:Hola would be the
Spanish version, with the two linked via metadata. See
http://wiki.creativecommons.org/CcWiki:Translate for background.

There are advantages and disadvantages of all these approaches. This approach,
though, allows you to use a single wiki deployment for the languages and provide
links between the translations. I suppose one criteria for choosing between
approaches is whether you expect people to translate content in the wiki or
develop separate pools of content in different languages.

Please note that while we can make room for a multi-lingual,
multi-wiki-deployment Acawiki, we can not host many copies of MediaWiki for
Acawiki.

Let me know which approach you want to pursue.

Can we make room for multilingual acawiki? I suggest adding the language code to
the URL, either as a subdomain

en.acawiki.org/

or somewhere else in the URL...
acawiki.org/en/
